Big Brother and the Sex Offenders

Starting this year, public and private colleges and universities must submit to state police the names and Social Security numbers of the students they accept. The Department of Motor Vehicles must do the same for anyone seeking a new license or change of address.

It seems Virginia lawmakers are making an interesting leap of logic, that by driving a car and going to college you are now guilty of some crime.

It was pointed out to me, and I agree, that the author of the article loses a lot of credibility by inserting almost random attacks against the Bush Administration. I think the point to look at is this specific piece of legislation, why it assumes guilt, and whether there really are no safeguards in place.
