I ran across this on the Virginia homepage:

How do I obtain a certificate of good standing?
Answers to these questions can be found at the State Corporation Commission.
If you go to the SCC site, you're then met with one of the worst designed sites in government. And I include third world nations in this list. This little bit of assistance - which I'm sure Virginia.gov thinks is helpful - is much like pointing someone to a library and telling them the book they want is "in there."
