VITA gem?

I may have discovered a bright light in the darkness of VITA. It seems the position of Executive Director of the ITIB has been filled. Amazingly enough, the HR Department managed to go through the mountain of resumes, interview possible candidates, select the top candidates for a second interview, pick the appropriate candidate, hire them, write a bio for them and take a publicity picture of them, all in less than three weeks! This from an agency that takes two years to put out a completed web standard and six months to put out a weekly newsletter! Amazing! Outstanding!

As the grunt in Aliens put it, "Maybe we should put [them] in charge..."

For those new to government and this blog, I am of course being sarcastic. Obviously, the position was filled before the posting went out. It's the legal way to keep cronies in charge.

Advertising positions to the public when the "deck is stacked" is against state HR policy and should be addressed actively in all Virginia agencies.
